The building of Xiamen Town Road area was originally built in 40s, and has been built for nearly 80 years. Because of its disrepair and serious damage to the building structure, there are a series of potential safety hazards, such as water leakage, wood corrosion, wall cracking and so on. As an ancient building with profound historical significance, the parties concerned decided to reinforce the arcade buildings on Zhenbang Road about 120 meters long.

The project started in December 2015.

Riding towers are to Xiamen as courtyards are to Beijing and small foreign buildings are to Shanghai. They engrave the history of the city and embody the overseas Chinese culture and marine culture of Xiamen. Based on the inspection and appraisal of Zhenbang Road Arcade Building and the principle of maintenance and reinforcement of historic buildings, the following reinforcement schemes are formulated:

1. strengthening the original structure, thoroughly eliminating dangerous houses and prolonging the service life.

2. combined with the needs of development and utilization at this stage, we should make changes to its usage functions.

The carbon fiber cloth and glued steel adhesive used in this project all come from Shanghai Horse Construction.
