On the morning of November 3, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport formally accepted the verification flight of the Civil Aviation Calibration Center of China, and conducted the verification flight for the airport's communications, navigation, navigation lights, and flight procedures. At this point, Chengdu will also become a city in China with two large international airports after Beijing, Shanghai and Taipei.


Tianfu International Airport is located in the Eastern New District of Chengdu. It is a 4F international airport, an international aviation hub, one of the highest-ranking airports in the Silk Road Economic Belt, and the main hub of the Chengdu International Aviation Hub. According to the plan, after the airport is put into use, it can meet the annual passenger throughput of 40 million passengers, the cargo and mail throughput of 700,000 tons, and the use of aircraft movements of 320,000.


Although it has not yet been officially put into operation, Tianfu Airport has made its C-rank debut in the hearts of netizens only by virtue of its appearance. So how did this airport with its strength, appearance, and many favorites be built?


According to reports, the viaduct in front of the terminal building of Tianfu International Airport contains 5 bridges. The terminal elevated upper approach bridge, T1 terminal elevated, T1 transition area viaduct, T2 transition area viaduct, TT transition area viaduct, with a total length of 1,647.418 meters, a total of 17 cast-in-place prestressed concrete continuous fish-belly box girder.


The bridge deck is 48.6 meters wide and the maximum span is 39.047 meters. The box girder concrete was poured 34 times, using more than 40,000 cubic meters of fair-faced concrete.


The viaduct in front of the building spans large railways, subways, integrated pipe corridors, GTC corridors, hotel cooling towers, and various structural vents. The left side is adjacent to the parking building and GTC, with the terminal roof grid on the upper side, and the right side is also adjacent to the airside corridor and the terminal corridor. The geographical space is very complicated. The three “scissor-supported” viaducts in the transition area encircle the “Eye of Tianfu” hotel counterclockwise. The design structure is complex, the lines are beautiful, and the staggered pattern is an important link between the T1 terminal and the T2 terminal.


According to Sun Qianlong, the person in charge of the Tianfu Airport Viaduct Project of the Eighth Bureau of China Construction, these technologies include the following. "One pier and two bridges" pre-stressed large eccentric pier column construction, special-shaped vase pier pier column one-time optimization, fair-faced concrete color difference control, urban viaduct embedded lighting pipeline across expansion joints, long-life high-durability concrete material design.


Sun Qianlong also mentioned, “After completion, it will soon become the largest cross-over underground structure, the fish-bellied box girder arc section has the steepest slope, and the bridge construction covers the widest range. The'one pier and two bridges' pier column has the largest eccentricity and is used in China. The fair-faced concrete transparent protective agent has the largest protection area, and it forms the longest U-shaped symmetrical bridge in the country with the T2 viaduct in front of it."
