Project Overview

A high-rise residential district next to the Kecun interchange in Guangzhou has been built and used for many years. However, recently it was discovered that there is a main beam in the basement of the negative floor. The bottom of the beam has a long crack along the width of the beam and extends to the height of the beam 30mm, and there are signs of continued expansion.

Cause Analysis

Through investigation and analysis, it was found that the management office of the community leased the first-floor shops to others to do steel business, and the tenant had piled a large amount of steel on the first floor. Obviously, the main reason for the cracking of the beam is because the actual load imposed on the beam greatly exceeds its design load, which leads to structural cracks caused by insufficient bearing capacity.

Structural reinforcement plan

Since the crack is caused by insufficient structural bearing capacity, reinforcement measures must be taken. However, because the basement is used as the parking lot of the community, it has strict requirements on the net height, and it is required that the reinforcement measures cannot significantly reduce the net height of the floor. After multi-analysis and comparison, it is finally decided to adopt carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement technology.

Technical characteristics of carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement

(1) The carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement is thin and light, and it hardly increases the size of the original structure and its own mass.

(2) Thecarbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement is simple and fast.

(3) Anti-corrosion of acid, alkali and salt medium, wide application.

(4) Carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement can effectively close the cracks of the concrete structure and prolong the service life of the structure.

(5) Carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement is easy to maintain the original structure.

(6) The carbon fiber sheet has good durability.

Carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement process principle

The principle of carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement is to paste the carbon fiber sheet with a specially formulated adhesive resin or impregnating resin on the surface of the concrete member to be reinforced. After the resin is cured, it forms a new force-bearing composite body with the original components and works together, thereby playing a reinforcement role.

Application effect of carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement

After the completion of the carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement project, under normal use, after three consecutive months of deformation observation, no deformation beyond the specification requirements was found, and no new cracks were found. From the practical application of the structural reinforcement and reinforcement project, the use of carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement technology has achieved the purpose of structural reinforcement and reinforcement. At the same time, carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP) concrete reinforcement has almost no effect on the floor height, does not affect the use of the building, and achieves a good effect.
