Reinforcement And Renovation Of Unfinished Buildings by Steel Jacketing and Steel Bonding

The construction of the Gulou Building began in May 1995. The project covers an area of approximately 12 acres, with a construction area of approximately 59600 square meters. It is planned to have 1 underground floor, 29 above ground floors, and 6 podium floors. The initial design purpose was for hotels and commercial purposes.

In 1998, after the main structure of the Gulou Building was topped off, it was shut down and is known as the "worst unfinished building". It was not until June last year that Rongtong Company took over that the Gulou Building officially resumed construction, and the renovated Gulou Building will be renamed as the "Rongtong Center".

After structural safety assessment, the building needs to be reinforced. The project will reinforce and upgrade the main structure while maintaining the original building contour.

The final construction method was determined to provide strength support for the reinforcement and renovation of the project by increasing the section reinforcement, external bonding or outsourcing of shaped steel, external bonding of steel plates, and bonding of carbon fibers. Currently, various projects have achieved significant progress compared to the original schedule.

The process of this reinforcement project is complex, and the reinforcement of the building structure takes a long time, resulting in missing and ambiguous drawings. This is an important challenge encountered in the reinforcement project. If the size and other information of building structural components cannot be accurately grasped, a series of unfavorable situations such as drawing adjustments, construction plan changes, and construction organization changes will occur in the later stage of the project, affecting the overall construction organization arrangement, construction quality, cost, and other aspects of the project.

On the basis of the original design, various concrete and steel structural components have been added to the project. In this reinforcement and renovation project, the method of increasing the cross-section and pasting carbon plates, steel plates and other reinforcement methods are mostly used.

Through careful research by the technical leader of the project and the use of materials, Horse steel plate adhesive, steel jacketing adhesive, and anchor adhesive were ultimately selected.

Horse's products fully meet the strict requirements of this project, and a large number of problems can be easily solved in front of Horse products.

This project not only faces the aforementioned challenges, but also has a relatively tight schedule. After nearly 300 workers fought for 120 consecutive days, the project was completed 20 days ahead of schedule and achieved zero rework, passing the acceptance inspection in one go.
