Reinforcement and Maintenance of Deshan Bridge With Carbon Fiber(CFRP)

The Deshan Bridge was completed and opened to traffic in 2000. Due to the doubling of traffic volume, its overload operation has affected traffic safety. In order to ensure the safe operation of urban bridges, extend their service life, and reduce their full life costs, the bridge is reinforced and maintained.

In order to ensure the safe operation of urban bridges, extend their service life, and reduce their full life costs, the bridge is reinforced and maintained.

The reinforcement and maintenance project of the Deshan Bridge officially began construction on October 9th and is expected to be completed on December 8th, after more than 50 days of construction. The main construction content of the project includes repairing cracks in concrete and reinforced concrete, repairing surface defects in concrete structures, adding external prestressing tendons, local chiseling of tooth blocks, outer sleeve, outer sleeve stiffening plate and finished steering gear, pasting fiber cloth on the bottom plate of the main beam, adding anti-collision guardrails to the main bridge, repairing the entire bridge deck pavement, replacing the south approach bridge bearings, strengthening the health monitoring system, and protecting the anti-collision foundation of the bridge piers. The repaired Deshan Bridge not only has anti slip, noise reduction, water sealing, crack resistance, and durability performance, but also greatly improves the smoothness of the bridge deck, bringing citizens a safer and more comfortable travel experience.

Reinforcement and Maintenance of Bridge With Carbon Fiber(CFRP)

This reinforcement and maintenance still maintains the original design level and load requirements. After opening to traffic, in order to maintain the good operating condition of the bridge, motor vehicles still need to follow the requirements of not exceeding 60 kilometers per hour, a total weight of 30 tons, and an axle load of 13 tons when passing through the Deshan Bridge.
