Strengthening and reforming the hospital building. The original structure of the building is three storey frame structure, the foundation form is the column strip foundation. The building is about 62m long, about 15m wide, with an area of about 4160m2 and an eaves elevation of 11.700m. According to the need of construction units to add storey reinforcement and reconstruction, the whole structure is increased by one layer from the original three storeys to four storeys. At the same time, in order to meet the functional needs, part of the expansion is carried out. Increase the staircase and elevator room. The extension is five storeys. The structure form is frame shear wall.

Because the building does not meet the existing use requirements and other reasons, the construction unit intends to carry out storey upgrading. Therefore, in this reinforcement, the building is changed from three storey frame structure to four storey frame shear wall structure, and the structure layout and load have great changes. Compared with the general reinforcement design, the reconstruction project has the following characteristics:

  • The aseismic performance of the original structure has been unable to meet the existing code requirements, and the whole seismic strengthening is needed.

  • The reconstruction project needs to add a layer of structure, so the weight of the structure increases more and the earthquake force will increase correspondingly. The reinforcement of the bonded carbon cloth and the steel plate reinforcement will limited the seismic bearing capacity of the structure. Therefore, it is necessary use section enlargement strenthening to reinforce the structural foundation and the frame column and beam and other important members to meet the design requirements.
