Carbon fiber wrapping for column strengthening

On the one hand, the wrapping of CFRP can increase the axial compressive strength of concrete to a certain extent. On the other hand, the transverse restraint effect of CFRP on columns can also significantly improve the ductility of columns under horizontal loads and meet the ductility requirements of axial compression ratio.

The concrete strength of 9 frame columns can not meet the design requirements, resulting in excessive axial compression ratio, unable to meet the ductility requirements of the limit value of axial compression ratio. The reinforcement scheme for columns is used fiber reinforced polymer wrap.

By calculating the bearing capacity and ductility, the scheme of wrapping 3 layers of carbon fiber wrap along the high range of the whole column is adopted for the 3 columns with lower strength, and the other 6 columns are wrapped with 2 layers of carbon fiber wrap along the whole column height range.
