01. Project overview

The International Trade Center has a total construction area of 1.07 million square meters. The No. 5 podium of the project under construction needs to be reinforced due to the expansion of the banquet hall on the roof level and the change of its use function.


The maximum load of a reinforced single column is increased to 180 tons. In order to prevent the column section from continuing to increase excessively and affecting the usable space, we gave up the reinforcement method of increasing the section. Instead, the original structural column is covered with thick steel plate to achieve the purpose of increasing the load.


02. Project Features

1. In this project, the columns are reinforced with outsourcing thick steel plates. The steel plates are reinforced from the negative four floors underground to the fifth floors above the ground. The maximum section size of the column is 1.4m×1.4m, the maximum thickness of the steel plate is 50mm, and the gap between the steel plate and the structural column is 30mm.


2. The weight of a single steel plate used for reinforcement in this project reaches 1.8 tons. Some floors are relatively high and the transportation road is complicated, which brings great difficulties and dangers to the transportation and assembly of the steel plate. In order to ensure the construction quality, the traditional manual electric welding spot welding operation method was abandoned, and the second-protection welding machine was used to weld the steel plate.


3. During the construction of this project, the vibrating wire sensor technology is used to monitor the stress change of the outsourcing steel plate during and after construction, which accurately guarantees the effect of reinforcement after construction;


4. The construction quality has passed the process inspection of the inspection center, and the supervision and acceptance of the supervision, design, general contractor, construction party and the Housing and Urban-rural Development Bureau are qualified. In-depth understanding and optimization have implemented the design and general contracting requirements for quality and safety, and perfectly realized the construction unit's demand for space and functional use.
